Swastikas were ancient symbols. However, the symbol has acquired a bad reputation due to ignorant people who do not know that the National Socialist German Workers Party (NSGWP or Nazis) did not call their symbol a "swastika." Dr. Rex Curry's work is supported by the book "The Third Reich in the Ivory Tower: Complicity and Conflict on American Campuses" by Stephen H. Norwood (Cambridge University Press). However, Norwood's book displays ignorance of the early stiff-armed salute for the Pledge of Allegiance. The book is supposed to be a chilling chronicle that many Americans showed enthusiasm for the National Socialist German Workers Party. The chill would have been bigger if Norwood had known about and discussed America's Nazi salute and its origins in earlier American national socialism. An improved sequel to Norwood's book could be titled "The Third Reich in education: Complicity and Conflict on American schoolyards from 1892 in children daily from the age of six onward".

According to Norwood the "stiff-armed Nazi salute and Sieg Heil chant" was "modeled on a gesture and a shout" that Hanfstaengl had used as a Harvard football cheerleader (Norwood cites Karl Dietrich Bracher, German Dictatorship, 117; Peter Conradi, Hitler's Piano Player: The Rise and Fall of Ernst Hanfstaengl, Confidant of Hitler, Ally of FDR (New York, 2004), 45, 63). Here is a funny point about Norwood (and other authors) and Hanfstaengl: It is possible that both were ignorant of the Nazi gesture's origin in the USA's Pledge of Allegiance (written in 1892). Putzi did not grow up in the USA, so when he encountered the gesture later at Harvard, he might not have realized it came from robotic chanting daily in government schools for about two decades prior in the USA. Many People miss the point if their only concern about the Pledge of Allegiance is the phrase "under God." Aside from that, the Pledge was part of a larger program written by Francis Bellamy, and the larger program included hymns, bible references, preaching, et cetera, as well as including the phrase "under God." For crying out loud, Francis Bellamy was a Christian socialist and a religious wako. He was not a friend of atheism. That "under God" was not in a specific part of the Pledge of Allegiance program was practically an oversight. The only reason Bellamy MIGHT have opposed the addition is that he did not want other people altering his pledge and messing up the flow. That is ALL.

Judge Napolitano in the video link below agrees with Dr. Rex Curry that the USA Pledge was the origin of the Nazi salute. Another link shows another video (on Youtube) in which a harassed student (in a government school / socialist school with daily chanting) also agrees with what Curry has been saying for a decade or more: that the USA Pledge was the origin of Nazi salute. painting. It appeared on the cover of The Saturday Evening Post
published May 12, 1917. A civil war veteran merely doffs his hat in
the painting, while a boy scout gives the scout's modified military
salute. Rockwell did not show out stretched arms in the early American
nazi salute.

Military personnel and boy scouts and girl scouts continue to salute
the flag in the initial manner used during America's Nazi salute: the
military salute. The difference is that they no longer stretch the

You should enjoy the following esoteric points that are known to almost no one. They are virtually unknown due to misrepresentations spread by wikipedia/wakipedia, the anonymous bulletin board masquerading as an encyclopedia (It is odd that people cite wikipedia, in that for it to be cited "intelligently"(?) one would have to include the date and exact time cited in that wakipedia changes by the milisecond, and is often changed
deliberately to contradict the very reason someone cited it. By citing the date and exact time it might be possible for a reader to view the history of changes and find the actual article cited as it existed at that point in time).

The top esoteric point to be made here is a rebuttal of the bonehead who posted on wakipedia that the Jacques-Louis David painting "Oath of the Horatii" is the origin of the stiff-armed salute. Lots of people repeat that mindlessly because they see it on wakipedia.

The bonehead who originally posted the horatii lie did it in an effort to cover-up discoveries by the noted symbologist Dr. Rex Curry concerning the pledge of allegiance as the origin of the stiff-armed salute. It is interesting to note that the wakipedia comment about the horatii claim never explains that the pledge use of the gesture did not come from the horatii painting, rather the pledge’s use came from the military salute extended out toward the flag. That and other points are examples of the deliberateness of misrepresentation in the wakipedia posts, intended to mislead people into believing that Francis Bellamy (author of the Pledge of Allegiance) was inspired by the David painting, when there is no evidence at all of that, just the opposite.

The USA's Pledge of Allegiance was the origin of the salute adopted later by the National Socialist German Workers Party.

Wikipedia (Wakipedia) has spread the lie that the gesture came from the Jacques Louis-David painting Oath of the Horatii. That myth

Some people would say that the socialist typos AND YOUR COMMENTS ABOUT THEM reveal more than you intended to reveal. It certainly seems that way to people who know the facts above. You have committed a classic stereotypical error that many people recognize even if you don't.

You might also wish to recall that Mao started out with guidance and support from Stalin, and that Stalin and Hitler invaded Poland together as allies in a pact to divide up Europe (and in an apparent contest to see who could kill the most people, which Stalin won hands down, err bodies down). Actually, Stalin, Lenin and Soviet Socialism also had a head-start on Hitler.

You should help update your readers about Hitler's place among people who gave socialism a bad name and also explain the "typo" socialist "Wholecaust."

In "Monty Python and the Holy Grail" a dead collector with a cart shouts "bring out your dead" and then takes and kills someone who is not yet dead.

The Monty Python scene is comedy. But under Stalin and the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics it actually happened. For example in the Ukraine where Soviet Socialists stole everyone's food and abandoned them to starve to death by the thousands each day, adding up to millions murdered. Socialism's dead collectors would take people who were not yet dead (it saved a second trip the next day).

The Monty Python scene is set in medieval times during the plague (an actual disease). The Soviet Socialist scene in the Ukraine was set in modern times and did not involve any actual disease at all.

People had very strange beliefs in the middle ages concerning religion, sciences, spirits, disease, et cetera. The people in the middle ages seem almost insane compared to people today (and "modern knowledge"), or even when compared to what people knew during the time of Soviet Socialism.

A common myth on the web is that "Roosevelt instituted the hand over the heart gesture." A web search for the quoted phrase suggests that the lie originated from evil wikipedia writers who post lies. Wikipedia is an anonymous bulletin board that is misrepresented as an encylopedia. It is misrepresented so effectively that other sites identified as reference sites will blindly repeat lies that are posted on Wikipedia. That repetition of lies is shown by the Roosevelt quote above. A web search for the quote produced the following inaccuracy: "Because of the similarity between the Bellamy salute and the Nazi salute, President Franklin Delano Roosevelt instituted the hand-over-the-heart gesture as the salute to be rendered by civilians during the Pledge of Allegiance and the national anthem in the United States, instead of the Bellamy salute. The first true news source to announce the layoff of Daniel Ruth, other layoffs and the deteriorating format of the Tampa Tribune newspaper was RexCurry.net. The paper, part of the merged Tribune/WFLA-Ch. 8/ TBO.com, has already gone through several rounds of job reductions.
Executive Editor Janet Coats communicated with urgency: “... I’m worried that if we don’t change how we think about this further it won’t matter what falls through the cracks because we’ll have no readers.”

Partial blame for the Tribune's decline goes to two writers: Daniel Ruth and Elaine Silvestrini. The mess follows mere weeks after "Daniel Ruth LaRouche" and "Elaine Silvestrini Mussolini" were exposed in public debate challenges. On another occasion, Ruth admitted publicly that locals have labeled him "bigot, prejudiced, hateful and ignorant" among many other similar insults.

Silvestrini and Ruth are news repeaters. The term "repeaters" and "reporters" is synonymous, although "repeaters" explains more about radio, TV and print news people like Silvestrini and Ruth: they repeat claptrap that is spouted by government and government officials. They repeat it as if it is serious, rational and important. That is what happens to "news" media in a police state. They repeat the national socialist dogma of their newspapers ("national socialist" is what "nazis" called themselves, and it is necessary to point that out in case the newspaper's readers (both of them) read this because that fact rarely, if ever, appears in the rag).

The Tribune is collapsing under the internet and under Dr. Curry's internet work (taking top spots on the web for exposing Silvestrini, Ruth and the Tribune). Silvestrini and Ruth are learning the hard way why the Tribune is losing under the web. A google search for Elaine Silvestrini shows that top spots are the RexCurry.net page (and others) exposing her. A google image search for Elaine Silvestrini shows similar results. Similar resullts show in searches for Daniel Ruth. Videos expose them in the top spots in searches on Youtube.com for Elaine Silvestrini, Daniel Ruth, and Tampa Tribune. That is why Dr. Rex Curry makes important discoveries that enlighten the world forever, while Elaine Silvestrini and Daniel Ruth overlook important discoveries (that they could have made) during lives of name-calling, hate-mongering and bad writing.

Silvestrini and Ruth repeat propaganda as if it were the pledge of allegiance that they were taught to repeat in government schools (socialist schools). That is why they failed to make the historic discoveries that were made by the symbologist Dr. Curry, including the following:

1. The swastika (Hakenkreuz), although an ancient symbol, was used to represent crossed S-shapes for "socialism" under the National Socialist German Workers Party. Ruth and Silvestrini have been using the word "nazi" for so long that it could be described as "nazi" propaganda: The actual name of the group (National Socialist German Workers Party) never enters their heads. They have probably never written the actual name of the group in their newspaper (check it yourself). Their thinking on the topic is as shallow as repeating the pledge of allegiance. As a consequence, they never understood the significance of the etymology, the group's true name, what the group's members called themselves (they did NOT call themselves "nazis"). All of the above, combined with their desire to rehabilitate the deadly dogma of socialism, is why they could never discover that the swastika was used to represent S-shapes for "socialism" under German National Socialism.

2. That the Pledge of Allegiance was the origin of the stiff-arm salute adopted later by the National Socialist German Workers Party. They are so locked into the myths that they could never do anything but repeat shallow propaganda about the pledge. They never gave it any thought or research at all, and it would never enter their minds to try. Even if they ever heard that Francis Bellamy was a socialist in the nationalism movement, they would have been too ignorant to make any comparisons to "Nazis" because they are too stupid to know that "Nazis" were German National Socialists. If they ever even started down a mental path to such thoughts, they would have quickly stopped because of their desire to rehabilitate socialism. They don't want anyone to know, or to think about, Francis Bellamy as a socialist in the nationalism movement, and the Pledge of Allegiance as the origin of the stiff-arm salute adopted by German National Socialists.

Recently, Silvestrini and Ruth were schooled by RexCurry.net about the Pledge of Allegiance's past. Flag fanaticists Silvestrini and Ruth had been what is known as "pledge virgins" until they were rexed up one side and down the other. They were so ignorant that they did not know that the Pledge was the origin of the German National Socialist salute. Heck, they were so ignorant that they did not know that the early Pledge used a stiff-armed salute. They did not know that the stiff-arm salute developed from the military salute. They were so stupid that they did not even know the etymology of the term "Nazi." They did not know that German National Socialists did not call themselves "Nazis." Silvestrini's and Ruth's writing is similar to robotic chanting in worship of the state. They pledge allegiance to growing government and attack anyone who does not join them. Ruth and Silvestrini share a style of writing that is common in modern journalism: They mislead in order to cover up the important issues. Think of the Tampa Tribune as a torture and terrorism conspiracy (as its readers think of it; both of them). That makes Elaine Silvestrini a co-conspirator with unreadable Ruth. Ruth's use of "socialist" is telling in that Ruth covers up for the National Socialist German Workers Party and its deadly dogma. Instead he uses his favorite hackneyed misleading shorthand for the group.

On the Tribune's fascistic flag fanaticism, Ruth and Silvestrini have been influenced by America's most notorious National Socialists, Francis Bellamy and Edward Bellamy. Ruth's economic ignorance equals or exceeds Edward Bellamy's. Silvestrini and Ruth add to the public perception of their profession as "news nazis."

A lot of fascinating research examines how socialists and their propaganda have haunted the world. Many authors worry today about a future filled with persecution and global socialism. Those worries find relevance in the enormous size and scope of government worldwide.

After 1917, socialism was imposed in Russia when the former Union of Soviet Socialist Republics (USSR) was formed after the Russian Revolution of 1917, and the Russian Civil War of 1918-1920. The propaganda machinary introduced a new symbol for the new government: the swastika.

The Soviet swastika was so popular that paper money printed with the dates 1917 and 1918 carried large swastikas in the center of the bills (on denominations of 250, 1000, 5000, & 10,000). Three of the denominations bore three separate swastikas across the front (the 250 denomination bore one swastika). In 1919, the same 250 ruble note that had carried the swastika carried at the very top of the soviet socialist bill the phrase "Proletarier aller Länder vereinigt Euch" in the German language and in English (Workers' of the world unite!") and in other languages. The USSR was actively and openly spreading socialism in Germany (and globally) and using non-russian languages to do so: German, English, and other languages that use the "S" letter for words like "Soviet" and "Socialist." A similar fad grew in Germany, where the swastika symbol was popular with socialists and became the sign of the National Socialist German Workers' Party (NSGWP).

Through the work of socialists in the USA, the USSR, and Germany respectively, the swastika became a global symbol of socialism.

At the time that the Soviet swastika began, there existed the Petrograd Soviet of Workers' and Soldiers' Deputies, usually called the Petrograd Soviet. It was the soviet (workers' council) in Petrograd (Saint Petersburg), Russia established in March 1917. A workers' soviet had been created in Saint Petersburg (the name for Petrograd before the First World War had begun) in 1905 (the St Petersburg Soviet). This was a group of workers and soldiers who had formed in 1917. Soviets were rather like councils. Thus the "Soviet socialist" concept existed at the time that the crossed S-letters of the Soviet Swastika were used in Russia. The Swastika's two crossed S-letters symbolized "Soviet Socialism." That concept eventually evolved into the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics.

Eventually, Soviet socialists switched from the swastika to the hammer and sickle. The hammer and sickle resembles the earlier Soviet swastika flipped horizontally. The USSR's hammer and sickle might have been intended as a visual reminder of the Russian version of its own earlier swastika.

The swastika flag under German National Socialism was influenced by the Soviet swastika and by the hammer and sickle of Soviet socialism. The swastika of German socialists and the hammer and sickle of Soviet socialists have visual similarity. Each symbol resembles the other symbol pointing in the opposite direction.

In the same way that the swastika was two "S" letters crossed to represent socialists joining together, the hammer and the sickle were crossed to represent workers joining with peasants, or factory workers joining with agricultural workers.

At that time, the swastika was also a symbol of "superior society" or the "super society of socialism" for the new "super socialist man" in the New World Order (NWO). To learn more see George Bernard Shaw "Man and Superman" (1903), read about his visit with Stalin (the socialist tsar / czar) in the 1930s, and consider this quote from his letter to Henry James of 17 January 1909: "I, as a Socialist, have had to preach, as much as anyone, the enormous power of the environment. We can change it; we must change it; there is absolutely no other sense in life than the task of changing it. What is the use of writing plays, what is the use of writing anything, if there is not a will which finally moulds chaos itself into a race of gods." Having visited the USSR in 1930s, Shaw became an ardent supporter of Stalin and Soviet Socialism. After being duped by a carefully managed tour of the country, Shaw declared all the stories of the socialist Wholecaust were slander. In private, Stalin disparaged Shaw. Shaw was asked why he did not want to stay permanently in the "earthly paradise" of the Soviet Super Society.

The Soviet swastika was unusual to most swastikas (but the same as the German swastika) due to these features: it was 45 degrees to the horizontal (in a diamond shape), it was pointed clockwise, it was squared at its corners, and it was proportionally the same as the swastika used later by German National Socialists. Swastikas can point either way and are often flat on one side. The Soviet swastika and the German swastika were the same swastika. The swastika had been used by socialist groups in Germany before 1917, however the earlier use was never the same as the Soviet swastika, and the symbol was almost always flat on one side and likely to point in either direction. When German National Socialists altered their swastika it occurred after the debut of the Soviet swastika in 1917. The definitive version of the swastika under German National Socialism (e.g. the version on the flag) was inspired by the Soviet swastika.

The Soviet swastika's unusual orientation emphasizes the appearance of alphabetic "S" lettering.

Although the swastika was an ancient symbol, the historian Dr. Rex Curry (author of "Swastika Secrets") discovered that it was also used sometimes by German National Socialists to represent "S" letters for their "socialism." The leader of German National Socialism rotated the symbol 45 degrees and had newer uses oriented clockwise. The NSGWP's use of the swastika as "S" letters in alphabetic symbolism for "Socialism" was inspired by the Soviet swastika. The USSR's swastika was seen as a union of "S" letters for "Soviet Socialist" as in the "Union of Soviet Socialist Republics" (In German: "Union der Sozialistischen Sowjetrepubliken"). After the swastika became the symbol of German National Socialists, the symbol was altered to represent intertwined "S" letters for "Sieg Socialism" (Socialist Victory) or "Socialist Solidarity" or representing socialists from different groups joining together under the NSGWP (especially after other groups were banned in another example of German socialists copying Soviet socialists).

If the acronym "USSR" used a swastika to replace the two "S" letters, then it would illustrate the symbolism of the Soviet swastika, similar to how it appeared in the center of paper currency under Soviet socialism. In 1917, some Soviet Socialists might have interpreted the symbol more generally as "Soviet Socialists" or "Union of Soviets" or "Union of Socialists" ("Sovetskikh Sotsialisticheskikh" or "Soyuz Sovetskikh" or "Soyuz Sotsialisticheskikh" from "Soyuz Sovetskikh Sotsialisticheskikh Respublik" or SSSR).

German National Socialists and Soviet Socialists have a history of aping each other. The flag color for German National Socialists was influenced by Soviet Socialists.

One country mimicked the other in the adoption of the salutes that they imposed on their civilians, and both countries mimicked the United States (the origin of their salutes). Dr. Rex Curry showed that the USA's early Pledge of Allegiance (to the flag) used an extended-arm salute and it was the origin of the salute of the German National Socialists and Soviet Socialists. Francis Bellamy created the pledge to the USA's flag, and he was a self-proclaimed socialist in the nationalism movement in the USA. The USA's original pledge began with a military salute that then stretched out toward the flag. Dr. Curry showed that, due to the way that both gestures were used sequentially in the pledge, the military salute led to the salute adopted later by German Socialists and Soviet Socialists. Bellamy's original pledge stated that the palm should be turned upward with the arm gracefully curved upward. In actual practice in the USA, the second part of the gesture was performed with a straight arm and palm down by children who merely extended the military salute while perfunctorily performing the forced ritual chanting. The Soviet socialist salute is arguably closer to Bellamy's first description of the Bellamy salute because in the USSR the arm is in more of a military salute position, and maintained in a curved position as if the American salute was started but not completed. The USA had been performing Bellamy's socialist chanting, military salutes/nazi-salutes, and flag worship for about three decades (from 1892) before Young Pioneers under Soviet socialism adopted the America's bad habits. It was a mass youth organization of the USSR for children of age 10-15 in the Soviet Union between 1922 and 1991.

The stiff-armed salute to the flag is not something they do a lot of in the USA anymore. Back in the day, the straight-arm gesture was huge in America, but not so much now. The Pledge of Allegiance (1892) was the origin of the stiff-armed salute adopted later by the National Socialist German Workers Party (NSGWP), as shown in the discoveries of the symbologist Dr. Rex Curry (author of "Pledge of Allegiance Secrets"). Francis Bellamy, author of the pledge, and his cousin Edward Bellamy, were socialists in the nationalism movement in the United States and they influenced the NSGWP, its dogma, symbols and rituals. The pledge was written to debut for the Columbian Exposition 1893 Chicago World's Fair.

A fan suggested that the photo date is October, 1930, however cars in the photograph might indicate that the date is later (possibly as late as 1939) according to another fan. Today, adults do not want loudspeakers interrupting them every morning to command their mechanical chanting ala the dystopian book "1984"! Nevertheless, adults allow their children to be so abused in government schools where parents surrender their children. Adults also submit on occasion to the mechanical chanting due to bullying and peer pressure.

Here is a description of the Olympic Oath in Los Angeles in 1932. Consider how familiar the act was to Americans who had been performing the stiff-armed salute in the Pledge of Allegiance for four decades, since 1892.

"The voice of the announcer sounds again. It is introducing Lieutenant George C. Calnan, of the United States Olympic Team, who will take the Olympic Oath. A tall figure, erect and military, ascends the rostrum on the field as a hushspreads over the audience. He grasps the American flag with his left hand andraises his right to the sky. All over the field the athletes raise their right hands.Then, in a loud clear voice, come Lieutenant Calnanís words : 'We swear that we will take part in the Olympic Games in loyal competition, respecting the regulations which govern them and desirous of participating in them in the true spirit of sportsmanship for the honor of our country and for the glory of sport.' "

In 1892 (the year the Pledge of Allegiance was created in the USA for the Columbian Exposition 1893 Chicago World's Fair), Baron de Coubertin gave his long speech at a conference celebrating the 5th Anniversary of the establishment of the Union of French Societies of Athletic Sports (USFSA), which favored his idea to revive the Olympics. The first revived games were the 1896 Summer Olympics in Athens, Greece.

Written by Baron de Coubertin, the oath is taken by an athlete from the host nation while holding a corner of the Olympic flag. The athletes' oath was first taken by Belgian fencer Victor Boin at the 1920 Antwerp Games. It is unknown whether the American stiff-armed salute was used by Boin in 1920.

Coubertin might have been involved in starting scouting organizations in France.

Mexico adopted socialist flag salutes that originated in the United States (from 1892). The National Socialist German Workers Party (Nazis) also adopted the U.S. flag gesture America's stiff-arm salute) after it had been used in the USA for decades.

The stiff-arm salute was not an ancient Roman salute. The "ancient Roman salute" is a myth, as shown by Dr. Rex Curry (author of "Pledge of Allegiance Secrets").

It is part of Dr. Curry's work exposing the Roman Salute: cinema, history, ideology and myths.

The Pledge of Allegiance in the USA originally began with a classic military salute (to the forehead) that was then extended out toward the flag. The initial military salute was sometimes performed from the chest. In practice, the 2nd gesture was performed palm down because children simply extended the military gesture outward.

The Pledge was written by a National Socialist (Francis Bellamy) who wanted military socialism in the USA, Mexico, Germany and worldwide.

The history of Mexico is the subject of a lot of research, including the influence of socialist dogma in the country. Much of the work overlooks the historical impact upon Mexico of the socialist movement in the United States.

Socialists in the USA share blame for the poverty of socialism in Mexico, as shown in the work of the historian Dr. Rex Curry. Bellamy wrote his pledge so that it could be used in any country. He wanted to spread military socialism worldwide. Edward Bellamy was the author of the "Looking Backward from 2000 to 1887." The book was an international bestseller and was tranlsated into every major language including Spanish, German, Russian, and Chinese. It appears by title in many of the major Marxist writings of the day. Clubs sprang up in the USA and worldwide for touting the book's ideas.

The influence of socialists in the USA was so strong that the first socialist revolution occurred in Mexico (1910) preceding the revolutions of the countries of the socialist Wholecaust (of which the Holocaust was a part): ~60 million dead under the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics; ~50 million under the Peoples' Republic of China; ~20 million under the National Socialist German Workers' Party (NSGWP).

The Pledge of Allegiance (1892) to the U.S. flag originally began with a military salute. The pledge was written by Francis Bellamy, cousin and cohort to Edward. The pledge was created to promote their military socialism in the most socialistic institution: government schools (socialized schools). They wanted government to take over all schools and create the "industrial army" from children to spread the Bellamy vision. The Bellamys admired the military and they wanted all of society to ape the military under a martial law system.

People were persecuted for refusing to pledge or to perform the straight-arm salute to the national flag. That was to the flag of the USA (the stars and stripes) and of Germany (the swastika flag) as it happened at the same time. Some religious people considered it sacrilegious. There were good reasons to view the pledge/salute as the worship of government. Most people do not know that a cross was worshiped as the notorious symbol of German National Socialism. The NSGWP called their symbol the Hakenkreuz, not the swastika. Hakenkreuz means "hooked cross." Although the swastika was an ancient symbol, Professor Rex Curry (author of "Swastika Secrets") discovered that it was also used sometimes by German National Socialists to represent "S" letters for their "socialism." The Bellamy desire for government schools (and their use for socialist militarism) was a monstrous example to the world for decades and still is.

Jewish children were forced to perform the socialist straight-arm salute in government schools in the U.S. long before the National Socialist German Workers' Party existed, and for years thereafter while the horrid party tried to impose socialism everywhere.

Bellamy belonged to a group known for "Nationalism," whose members wanted the federal government to nationalize most of the domestic economy. He saw government schools as a means to that end. It was a view later shared in the military-socialist complex of the socialist trio of atrocities.

In his Pledge of Allegiance, Francis Bellamy is expressing the ideas of his first cousin, Edward Bellamy, author of the American socialist utopian novels, Looking Backward (1888) and Equality (1897).

Bellamy’s “Looking Backward” is about a man who sleeps from 1887 until the year 2000. The United States has become one giant socialist monopoly (excuse the redundancy). The book openly portrays men treated as military draftees, from the age of twenty-one until the age of forty-five, in the U.S.’s industrial army. Before the age of twenty-one, men attend one enormous school system of government schools that are an integral part of creating the industrial army in the socialist system. Bellamy’s glorification of the military includes government assignment of all jobs. Everyone is issued ration cards which are used to draw goods from government storehouses. Everyone is forced to have only the same amount in value annually.

Of course, all of the preceding is portrayed as a dandy utopia just as it was in the military socialist complex of the socialist trio of atrocities and elsewhere.

The book was translated into 20 foreign languages. It was popular among the elite in pre-revolutionary Russia, and was even read by Lenin's wife. John Dewey and the historian Charles Beard intended to praise the book by stating that it was matched in influence only by Das Kapital.

In 2009 a bill was proposed in Congress that would forbid federal funds to any school that allows any student to say the Pledge of Allegiance in any language other than English. Maybach-Motorenbau GmbH was founded in 1909 by Wilhelm Maybach. The company was originally a subsidiary of Luftschiffbau Zeppelin GmbH. Today, the brand is owned by Daimler AG and based in Stuttgart.

The company first built an experimental car in 1919, with the first production model introduced two years later at the Berlin Motor Show.

The start of the Maybach's double-M symbol is not certain. However, the double-M symbol is shown in a poster for the Maybach W3, built in 1921 and shown at Berlin Motor Show.

Between 1921 and 1940, the company produced various vehicles. The company also continued to build heavy duty diesel engines for marine and rail purposes.

Maybach contributed to the German National Socialist war effort in World War II by producing the engines for many mobile artilleries and tanks such as Jagdpanther, Panther and Tiger tanks with the Maybach HL230.

Krit might have inspired the use of the swastika by the National Socialist German Workers Party. Many Krit cars were exported to Europe and Australia. On December 29, 1914, a New York Times newspaper article states that the War was responsible for the bankruptcy of the Krit Motor Car Company, to wit: "Lack of business, due to the European war, is given as the cause of the failure."

That means that an American car company was the first to put swastikas on cars in Europe.

The Krit company existed from July 1909 to 1915. The Krit car was designed by Kenneth Crittenden, who had worked at Ford and Regal.

Although the swastika had a history as a generic "good luck" symbol, that did not hold true for the Krit badge, nor for the badge of the National Socialist German Workers Party. However, the Volkswagen VW badge, based on the swastika philosophically and stylistically, lives on.

New discoveries show that American soldiers used the swastika as their symbol early in World War I, and up to 1941, against Germany. The VW Beetle is often discussed without mentioning its manufacturer Volkswagen. The Trabant is similar in that it is often discussed without mentioning Sachsenring, even though the logo is an "S," and not a "T" for Trabant.

Trabant's Sachsenring company was named after the Sachsenring (circuit or ring) race track. Sachsenring (German: Saxony ring) is located in Hohenstein-Ernstthal near Chemnitz in Saxony, in eastern Germany.

The first race in the area of Sachsenring was held on 26 May 1927, on a 8.7 km layout on public roads, leading also through the village of Hohenstein-Ernstthal itself. It was dubbed "Sachsenring" in 1937 during the height of German National Socialism. In 1920, the National Socialist German Workers' Party (NSGWP) began; in 1930, it gained electoral breakthroughs; in 1933 it imposed dictatorship; and in 1939 it became an ally with the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics in a pact to divide up Europe, and they invaded Poland, and WWII spread. At that time both countries praised each other's "glorious socialism." Germany in the 1930's often used symbols for letters and words. Common symbols under the National Socialist German Workers' Party often used the "S" shape, including the side-by-side use in the "SS" Division, and the overlapping use in the swastika. To understand the Trabant it is necessary to delve into its history.

Before the war, and under the National Socialist German Workers' Party, the Sachsenring company operated. Under German National Socialism, car and vehicle manufacturers were required to follow the command of the socialist government in the manufacture of products.

The factory became part of IFA which was the socialist state-owned group which ran all of the East German motor industry. Soviet Socialism adopted and popularized the swastika-style symbolism of the socialist car.

Soviet Socialism adopted the swastika style symbolism of the Trabant, and also perpetuated the terminology of the National Socialist German Workers' Party, calling the GDR "our Socialist Fatherland" under the rule of the East German SED (Sozialistische Einheitspartei Deutschlands: the German Socialist Unity Party). The new socialist government interpretated the history of East Germany as the crown and climax of Marxist-Leninist dogma.

As with the red flag of the swastika, red flags continued to be a must. Statues of Lenin and Marx joined the new red flags. Citizens showing disrespect or even reluctance to accept them were, as in the previous socialist era, automatically suspect to the regime and therefore at risk.

The two Germanies were re-unified on October 3, 1990. It was a remarkable disintegration: not with a bang but a whimper, East Germany (the German Democratic Republic) disappeared from the political map. An entire society (soon joined by the former Union of Soviet Socialist Republics) was consigned (as author Stefan Heym quipped) to the "garbage heap of history."

"Pledge of Allegiance Secrets" by Dr. Curry exposed the the modern origin of the so-called "il saluto romano" from the USA's Pledge of Allegiance and from the military salute that was used as the first gesture of two gestures in the pledge. Francis Bellamy (author of the pledge) was not attempting to do a "Roman salute" nor a "stiff-arm salute" and he never said such a thing. Bellamy did say that he was attempting to do a military salute that was then stretched out toward the flag. In practice, that became the stiff-arm salute because bored children simply extended Bellamy's initial military salute outward to point at the flag.

Winkler's method with misleading shorthand terms continued in a poster for Winkler's speech that stated "The Roman Salute: Origin and Spread of a Fascist Symbol." The poster and Winkler's use of the word "fascist" in the speech perpetuate ignorance (or a cover-up?) of the fact that the straight-arm salute adopted by the National Socialist German Workers Party originated from a National Socialist in the USA (Francis Bellamy) in 1892. Winkler seems ignorant of (or covering up) the fact that German National Socialists did not interchange "fascist" for the actual name of their party. Winkler's bad writing habit perpetuates widespread ignorance in that regard. It is embarrassing that the poster for Winkler's speech shows the painting "Oath of the Horatii." It is a funny error: As proof of an "ancient Roman salute" the neo-classical painting (from 1784) was, for a time, cited on Wikipedia, the glorified anonymous bulletin board where neo-nazis deliberately post propagandistic lies and delete information about the topics discussed here. There is where that wackiness began. Believe it or don't, Wikipedia continues to use "Oath of the Horatii" to imply proof of an "ancient Roman salute" (It depends upon when Wikipedia is viewed because Wikipedia changes by the millisecond as people literally do cyber-warfare to maintain lies there).

After Dr. Curry pointed out the silliness at Wackipedia, someone there back-pedaled into speculation that the Pledge's early stiff-arm salute was based on the Horatii painting, not caring that Francis Bellamy himself explained the origin of his salute and it had nothing to do with "Oath of the Horatii" by the painter Jacques-Louis David. The back-pedaling went farther with misinterpretation of adlocutio, not caring that Bellamy explained the origin of his salute and it had nothing to do with misinterpretation of adlocutio. Bellamy explained that his salute started with a military salute that extended out toward the flag. Francis Bellamy never used the term "ancient Roman salute" ever for any reason (the concept "ancient Roman salute" did not exist during Bellamy's time). Indeed, Jacques-Louis David himself never referred to "Oath of the Horatii" as an "ancient Roman salute" nor did David use the term "ancient Roman salute" ever for any reason (the concept "ancient Roman salute" did not exist during David's time). Winkler never asks the question "what is the oldest example of 'Oath of the Horatii' used to explain the Roman salute?" Why does Winkler fail to ask that obvious question? That is the question Dr. Curry asked and answered. Does an old example not exist? Is the oldest source the wikipedia effort to cover-up Dr. Curry's work?

Winkler seems unaware (or he deliberately ignores) the fact that the term "Roman salute" came after Francis Bellamy from Rome N.Y., (as shown by Dr. Curry) and even later than that after the socialist Mussolini adopted America's mechanical stiff-arm salute in Rome, Italy. Winkler has written a book about the "Roman Salute" in which Winkler never examines the etymology of the phrase about which Winkler wrote. Winkler never asks the question "when was the term 'Roman salute' first used?" That is the question Dr. Curry asked and answered. It is odd that Winkler asks Dr. Curry's question for the term "passo romano" (Roman step), although Winkler does not ask Dr. Curry's question for the term "Roman salute." Here are the two questions: (1) when was the term "passo romano" first used?; (2) when was the term "Roman salute" first used? Winkler only answers the "passo romano" question and Winkler's answer is similar to the answer that Dr. Curry has already given: they are of recent development, and decades later than the Pledge of Allegiance. Winkler writes "Mussolini introduced [the Roman step] in 1938, after being 'greatly impressed by the [national socialist] parades he had witnessed" on his state visit to Berlin the year before. [citation omitted]. At that time Italian-German relations were so close as to make the origin of the new step obvious to all Italians. Nevertheless it, too, was officially propogated as a Roman custom and accordingly called the passo romano ("Roman step").

Winkler's misleading method continues in his book "Roman Salute: Cinema, History, Ideology," including Winkler's misleading hackneyed slang, on display in the Table of Contents. One example is the title for chapter 3 ("Raised-arm salutes in the United States before fascism: from the Pledge of allegiance to Ben-Hur on screen") that seems designed to deceive. Winkler and Wikpedia play word games with the hackneyed term "fascism" in order to cover-up the National Socialist German Workers Party and its connection to older American National Socialism and the pledge from the Bellamys. If the raised arm salutes in the United States existed before "fascism," as Winkler claims, then they existed during the enormous growth and popularity of National Socialism touted by the Bellamys, and they influenced the dogma, symbols and rituals of the National Socialist German Workers Party later (Winkler's "fascism"). Winkler wants to pretend that America's National Socialism was not "fascism" so that Winkler can evade the connections.

Martin Winkler continues and expands the long tradition in the United States of covering-up the Pledge's putrid past.

People who refused to perform the stiff-arm salute and robotic chanting to the nation's flag were persecuted, prosecutied, expelled, beaten and even lynched. Eventually, that was happening at the same time in the United States and in Germany. But it started in the United States in 1892 with the Bellamys. They wanted government to take over education under their National Socialism, and eliminate all of the better alternatives, and when the government granted their wish the government's schools imposed segregation by law and taught racism as official policy. Imagine something that did not happen: Beginning in 1892, teachers in government schools in the United States began each day by holding up a picture of someone with a raised arm and the teacher would raise his arm and instruct all students to do the same. What would Winkler have said about the influence of that behavior in the United States and worldwide? Winkler would have a lot to say about it. Now consider something that actually did happen: Beginning in 1892, teachers in government schools in the United States began each day by chanting robotically with one arm raised toward the flag and they instructed all students to do the same. What does Winkler have to say about the influence of that behavior in the United States and worldwide? Winkler does not have much to say about it.

Winkler's book "Roman Salute: Cinema, History, Ideology" overlooks and misleads regarding the "history and ideology" part in the title. Winkler missed the one actual analogy between "ancient Rome" and the origin of the stiff-arm salute in the Pedge of Allegiance: authoritarianism (then and now), militarism, oppressive taxation and the decline of a once-great society.

Winkler overlooked the "big picture" that Dr. Curry uncovered years ago: How the pledge, the salute and the socialist dogma behind it caused the current massive spending and debt in America, domestic military socialism, nazi-style numbering of babies with lifetime tracking (the "social security" ponzi scam) and the police state in the United States that continues to grow today, along with government schools that have mechanical chanting every day for twelve years of each child's life (only the misnamed "Roman salute" has changed).

Winkler overlooked another big picture that Dr. Curry uncovered years ago: How the pledge, the salute and the socialist dogma behind it influenced totalitarianism worldwide, including the National Socialist German Workers Party and its dogma, symbols and rituals.

"The author [Winkler] first turns to the early form of the Pledge of Allegiance, which originally included an entirely similar gesture to the one that came to be used by Fascists and Nazis. State government dictates the expenditure and the size of the federal flags and their ubiquitous placement. The omnipresent flag is viewed all the time by all children. The pledge tracks the book "1984" by George Orwell (1949). Orwell describes a government that uses these slogans: Freedom is Slavery; War is Peace; Ignorance is Strength. The government bamboozled Americans into believing that collective robotic chanting in government schools daily is a beautiful expression of freedom. Chanters let the catch-phrase "with liberty and justice for all" delude them from the totalitarian reality of the behavior. Many local government schools cannot drop the pledge routine even though they so desire (because the pledge is dictated by state law in many states). That is unfortunate in that the pledge has acheived a result opposite that intended: It is an opportunity for students to show contempt, loathing and hatred. The pledge is the outlet whenever a student refuses to stand, or stands silently with arms crossed and a glare in his/her eye. Every student can do so every day. Some students continue to chant, and that highlights the divisiveness and puts the spotlight on the rugged individualists. It is easy to see why many schools would consider it to be better to drop the attempted brainwashing method entirely, rather than have it used so easily to its opposite impact, with the tables turned.

Student feelings of hate might be directed toward many targets: government, teachers, military socialism, regimentation, taxation, mounting future debt, social security numbers.

Defying the pledge is a shorter (and quieter) version of the "Two Minutes Hate" in George Orwell's novel Nineteen Eighty-Four (1984). The Two Minutes Hate (or "Two Minutes' Hate" or "Two-Minute Hate") was a daily period in which people must watch a film depicting enemies and express their hatred for them.

The film version of Orwell's book portrays the brainwashing technique imposed upon people in Oceania, attempting to whip them into a frenzy of hatred and loathing toward the current enemy. Those historical facts explain the enormous size and scope of government
today, and the USA's growing police state. They are reasons for massive
reductions in government, taxation, spending and socialism.

"Stop The Pledge" (STP), a pressure group, works to repeal laws in those
states that still retain a daily Pledge ritual in government schools. The
group needs help in notifying the public to contribute information (via
email at pledge-of-allegiance@earthlink.net or the contact info below) for a
study of how many students are taught the whole history of the Pledge; how
many students still chant robotically each day; and how many students feel
they would be disciplined or persecuted for refusals. Many students say that
they sit during the Pledge because they "refuse to kiss the government's
butt every morning." STP pays students to reject robotic ritualism and to
"take the pledge not to pledge."

Government schools in the USA popularized the straight-arm salute for three
decades before, and through, the creation of the National Socialist German

Good post. Also, guns rights are important for protection against government (the worst criminals and killers of all). A gun rights case, Wonschik v.
