The poem that follows was inspired by a famous piece by Martin Niemoller, a German Protestant minister. First they came for the machine guns, and I didn’t speak up because I had no machine guns.

A recent school shooting was described as the worst massacre in American history. It added to the growing number of deaths attributable to government schools and those people who maintain existing gun laws that disarm the innocent. Even so, the number of deaths caused by the government in that school shooting was greatly exceeded by the government at Waco, Texas, arguably the worst massacre in American history.
